Playing golf in cold weather requires careful preparation and adjustment. Here are some tips to help you stay warm and play your best:

Gear Up[edit | edit source]

  • Layering: Dress in layers to regulate your body temperature. Base layers should wick moisture, while outer layers should be windproof and waterproof.
  • Hand and foot warmth: Wear gloves and wear proper golf shoes with thick socks.
  • Headwear: A hat or beanie will help retain body heat.

Physical Preparation[edit | edit source]

  • Warm-up: Spend extra time warming up your muscles before hitting the course.
  • Stay hydrated: Even in cold weather, it's important to stay hydrated.
  • Take breaks: If you're feeling too cold, take short breaks in a warm place.

Golf Ball Behavior[edit | edit source]

  • Lower ball flight: Cold weather can affect ball flight, so expect lower trajectories.
  • Increased spin: Golf balls tend to spin more in cold conditions.

Mental Game[edit | edit source]

  • Patience: Cold weather can be challenging, so focus on staying patient and enjoying the game.
  • Focus: Concentrate on each shot and avoid distractions.

Remember: Safety is paramount. If the conditions are dangerously cold, it's best to postpone your round.
